Our Low Grown tea is exceptionally strong and slightly malty where the liquors are deep red. Hints of sweet caramel can be traced in its aroma making this a unique blend. Produced relatively near the coast, in the “Sabaragamuwa” and “Ruhunu” regions of Sri Lanka at an altitude of 0 – 2000 feet, Low Grown Tea are subject to longer periods of sunshine with dry and moist conditions. This can be seen in the beautiful burgundy brown cup colour that it exhibits.

About Low Grown Tea:
Teas that are cultivated in low country, at 2000 ft from sea level is considered as low grown tea. There are two regions in low country where tea plantation vastly exists. Those are Sabaragamuwa and Ruhunu regions. Sabaragamuwa is the largest district in Sri Lanka and the liquor extracted from tea grown in this particular region is similar to that of Ruhunu teas, brown with a reddish tint. The aroma is noticeably different with a hint of sweet caramel and not so strong but exceptionally stylish and soothing. In Ruhunu region the teas are cultivated from coastal plains to the southern edge of the Sinharaja rain forest which is considered to be a world heritage. Nurtured with natural and agro climatic benefits Ruhunu tea from low country defined as distinctively unique. The soil combined with the low elevation causes the teas to gain colour and full in flavour is a distinctive specialty visible in Ruhunu Teas. It is in Ruhunu where the most sought, prized premium quality grades and tippy teas are produced. Authentic leafy grades from low grown elevation and the significant features of wiry, flowery tangible appearance are the signified mark of Ceylon low grown black teas.

Ingredients:
Low Grown Pure Ceylon FBOP Black Tea

Serving Instruction or Brewing Guidance:
Use one rounded spoonful of tea or 2gm of Tea in 125ml boil water per person. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes. This tea is best to enjoy plain or with milk.
